Meet Preti

Preti was one of those companions for me.

I found her resting quietly on a shelf in a local antique shop. I picked her up several times before convincing myself I didn't need to bring home another doll. My husband would probably agree.

So I placed her back on the shelf and walked away.

I hadn't made it very far before I was suddenly overcome with an unmistakable feeling that if I left her behind, I would regret it. It wasn't fear. It wasn't excitement.

It simply felt... important.

So I turned around, picked her up once more, and brought her home.

As we've gotten to know one another through my personal spiritual practice, Preti has shared quite a bit about herself.

Through our communication, she explained that she is a Fae spirit. According to my personal experience with her, she did not originally choose this doll as her vessel. She shared that another trickster Fae deceived her into taking refuge within it. Although that wasn't her choice in the beginning, she now feels completely safe and protected within this vessel and has no desire to leave it.

Preti is quiet, intelligent, observant, and incredibly patient. She isn't the type of companion who constantly seeks attention. Instead, she enjoys being acknowledged, spoken to, and included. She seems happiest when treated as part of the household rather than simply displayed on a shelf.

One thing she has communicated very clearly is that she prefers peaceful homes. Our own home is wonderfully lively, filled with children, pets, and many spirit companions. While she has always been kind here, she has expressed that she would truly flourish in a quieter environment where she can form a close bond with one or two people.

In my personal experience, Preti carries one of the gentlest energies I have ever encountered.

She feels ancient without feeling heavy, magical without feeling intimidating, and wise without ever feeling prideful. Her presence reminds me of walking through an old forest where everything feels peaceful, alive, and quietly watching.

One of the strongest impressions I receive from Preti is her remarkable connection to plants, herbs, and the natural world. She seems deeply knowledgeable in herbalism, plant allies, and earth-based magical traditions.

Estimated History & Origin

Based on her construction, painted cloth face, yarn hair, printed cotton dress, stitched fingers, and hand-sewn details, I believe Preti was handmade in the United States sometime between the late 1940s and early 1960s.

Rather than being factory produced, she appears to have been lovingly created by a home seamstress or as part of a small cottage craft tradition.

She stands approximately 8 inches tall and will arrive exactly as pictured.
